WebCT Login Page

Go to AASU's home page at http:// www.armstrong.edu. There are several ways you can log in to WebCT:

• Go to the top right of AASU's home page and click on the drop down arrow by AASU Quick Information. Select Login to WebCT. Then click on Log on to myWebCT.
  
• Using your mouse, hold the pointer over Enrolled Students located at the left of AASU's home page. You will see a pop-up menu of links appear. Click on WebCT Login. Then click on Log on to myWebCT.
  
• Click on Enrolled Students located at the left of AASU's home page. Click on WebCT Login. Then click on Log on to myWebCT.
  
• Using your mouse, hold the pointer over Academics located at the left of AASU's home page. You will see a pop-up menu of links appear. Click on Web Coursework. Then click on Log into WebCT. Last, click on Log on to myWebCT.

Go to the WebCT Login Page directly and click on Log on to myWebCT.

WebCT ID/Username

A high percentage of help requests are in reference to students forgetting usernames and passwords. Following are general rules regarding WebCT usernames:

1. Your username, or WebCT ID, is all lowercase with no spaces.
   
   
   • Your username will be the first 6 letters of your last name and the first 6 letters of your first name.
     - Example: Patricia Johnson's username is: johnsopatric
     
     
   • If your name has less than 12 characters, you will use all characters.
     - Example: John Smith's username is: smithjohn
     
     
   • If your last name has less than 6 characters, use more letters from your first name to total 12 characters.
     - Example: Christopher Doe's username is: doechristoph
     
     
   • If your first name has less than 6 characters, use the first 6 letters of your last name and all letters of your first name. Do not add more characters from your last name to total 12 characters.
     - Example: Pam Templeton's username is: templepam
     
     

2. Usernames are case sensitive. Make sure the Caps Lock is not on when you are typing your information. There should be no periods, capital letters, or spaces.

Password

1. By default, your password is the first letter of the your last name plus the last 6 digits of your student identification number. There are no capital letters, periods, or spaces.
   
2. If your password does not work or you change it and forget it, the Student Help Desk can reset your password to the first letter of your last name and the last six digits of your student identification number.
   
3. Once you are logged into your WebCT class, it is a good idea to change your password to something that you can easily remember. To do this:
   1. Choose Change Password Settings from the top right hand corner.
   2. Type in your old password.
   3. Type in your new password twice.
   4. Click Update Password.
   5. Log in again using your new password.

Log Out

To log out of WebCT, click on the LOGOUT link, located on WebCT menu bar at the top of the screen. This is the most secure way to log out of WebCT.

If you close the browser without first logging out of WebCT, use the following guidelines to fully log out of WebCT:

• Fully exit the browser by closing all browser windows. In Netscape, go to the File menu and select Exit. In Internet Explorer, go to the File menu and select Close.
• If any browser windows are open, return to myWebCT, and click Logout.
