Yes, the workshops are free to students enrolled at Armstrong.
What topics are taught at the workshops?
We try to provide something for everyone; our workshop topics range from computer basics to Microsoft Office to web development and graphics editing, among others. To see a complete listing, please view our current workshop schedule.
How long do the workshops last?
The workshops typically last 1-1½ hours.
We prefer that students register in advance for workshops because seating is limited. Additionally, some workshops require students to complete self-assessments to test their readiness to complete the workshop successfully, and students complete the self-assessment during registration. Furthermore, for registered students, we have a system in place that documents students' confirmations and cancellations, which allows us to prepare better for the workshops, thereby ensuring higher quality training sessions. Students may sign up by completing the online registration form for the particular workshop they would like to attend.
We provide all training materials to students. However, students should have the prerequisite knowledge and skills to complete the workshop successfully. Students can determine their readiness by registering online for our workshops and completing the self-assessment.
We provide certificates upon request. If you would like to receive a certificate of attendance, we will inform you to stay after the workshop for a couple of minutes, so we can print a personalized certificate for you.
Does STS offer make-up sessions for those who can't attend or miss a workshop?
No, STS does not offer make-up sessions for workshops. However, if you're unable to attend one of our scheduled workshops, please call us at 927-5321 or 866-533-6353 (toll-free) to discuss alternative training options.
Does STS offer evening workshops?
We offer a few evening workshops that cover some of our more popular workshop topics, such as WebCT and PowerPoint. When we began offering workshops in 2001, we offered an evening session for all of our workshop topics, but we found these workshops to be poorly attended. If you would like to attend workshops in the evening, please contact us to inform us of your interest.
