Student Technology Services (STS) provides AASU students with a wide range of technological resources, services, and information. STS enables students to maximize the potential benefits of available AASU technologies when incorporated into their learning environment and course work.
The main academic computing lab in MCC Annex was extensively renovated in 1996, making computing resources more available to students and faculty and establishing an electronic classroom, the "Tech Room," for training. UH 112 became available in 1997. Armstrong's first Student Help Desk emerged in 2000, and in 2001, Student Technology Services formed as a unit consisting of both the computer labs and the Student Help Desk, among other instructional technology resources.
As online instruction, computing needs, and student population increase, the services of STS will grow to meet the students' needs. Currently, students are able to attend free training workshops that cover basic computing tasks to web development. In the near future, students will have access to a variety of online, animated tutorials that cover several topics, including WebCT, Student Email, and Microsoft Office.
